Obituary for DUDLEY JOE PARSONS Dudley Joe Parsons, age 81, passed away peacefully at home on July 14, 2018, surrounded by family. He was a born November 2, 1936 to Ned and Jessie Parsons. He joined the Army at 17 years of age and was stationed in Europe during the Korean War.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. He started his own business and worked as a mechanic and owner of Rock Creek Auto Parts in Rock Creek, Alabama until he retired in 2012. He also worked at US Steel Concord Mines as a coal miner and retired after 40 years.

He was a respected member of his community and always a rdzt/ of strength for his family. He was a man of great faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and always reflected his beliefs in the way he lived his life. He was strong, hardworking and had a positvie life energy that was felt by anyone who knew him.

He was the most honorable of men and taught life lessons by example. He was a good man who always helped others. He enjoyed traveling around the world with his wife and working outside at his home.

Being outside was one of his greatest joys. He lived a life filled with family and friends that loved and respected him and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Julia; daughters Lisa Cochran (Butch), Nancy Bryson (William), Kelly Turner Williams (David); grandchildren Kevin Cook, Jamie Cochran (Tiffany), BJ Cook (Ashley), Joseph Cochran (Mylea), Courtney Cochran Rogers (Chuck), Shaun Mann (Ashley), Rocky Bryson (Kristen).

He has multiple great-grandchildren that love him. Also, survived by his brother Wayne Parsons (Anne); sisters Janice Crider and sister Joyce Coffee. Also, multiple neices and nephews.

He will be greatly missed and the world will be a little lonlier without him, but heaven has gained an awesome angel. The visitation will be Wednesday, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Thursday, July 19, 2018, at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery. After the burial, at Providence Cemetery, the famiy would like to invite everyone for food and fellowship at Providence Baptist Church. “And in the end it is not the years in your life that count, it’s the life in your years”.
