Durwood Buford Radican, Sr., known to family and friends as OMR or D.B., passed into his heavenly home on April 12, 2018 at the age of 96. He was born November 02, 1921 in Ridgeway, Texas to parents, Clyde J. & Iona Radican. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp.

from 1942 to 1945 and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 30 plus years. He was a charter member of Faith Memorial Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and worked… Read More » the Children’s Bus Ministries with his beloved Hazel. He would often go sing for with the church at the Star of Hope ministry.

He worked for Carter Funeral Home for almost 16 years where he lovingly greeted families during visitations and funeral services. He enjoyed acting as MC for several years at the Buckshot Jamboree where he made many long time friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, by brother Harold L. Radican and by his beloved wife of over 59 years, Hazel D. Radican.

He is survived by sons, Durwood B. Radican, Jr., Roy E. Radican & wife, Jeanine; and Ray L. Radican. By grandchildren, Roy Jr., Jason, Michael, Paul and Debra Lynn; by great-grandchildren, Braylan, Colin, Makena, Nicole and Ava; as well as by sisters, Bonnie Jo Nalley and Lita Faye Keese; by several nieces, nephews, extended family, church family and dear friends. A visitation and celebration of life will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Carter-Conley Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am. to 1:00 p.m. with services at 1:00 p.m. in the Carter-Conley Chapel. He will be laid to rest in San Jacinto Memorial Park under the direction of Carter-Conley Funeral Home.
