Dwight W. Morton, 88, of Girard, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at his home. Dwight was born February 22, 1931, in Jacksonville, North Carolina, the son of Tommy W. and Julia Ann (Pittman) Morton. Dwight served his country in the US Army, and retired from Republic Steel, in Warren, as a cranesman.

Dwight was known for his garlic that he grew every year. He loved being outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Velma (Kellum) Morton, whom he married March 2, 1954, his children; David Morton, of Colorado Springs, CO, Kathy Stanion, of Girard and Michael Morton, of Las Vegas, NV.

, his sisters; Ruby Pittman, Sarah Parker, Judy Timer and Connie Morton and his brothers, Rodney and Lonnie Morton. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Ivy, Jimmy and Archie. As per Dwight’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
