Obituary for E. Virginia Walker E. Virginia (Scheewe) Walker passed away on November 20, 2018, in Butte. She was born February 2, 1921, in Helena to Oscar and Mary (Reece) Scheewe. She joined her older sister, June, who was born several years earlier.

Virginia spent her formative years in Helena, Seattle, Butte, and Denver as her family moved wherever her father’s job with the Railroad Express sent them to live. She attended St. Pat’s grade school in Butte for the major part of her early schooling and graduated high school from Holy Family Catholic High School in Denver in 1939. She went to college in Kansas and graduated with a nursing degree in 1944.

Soon after graduation, she returned to Butte to marry the love of her life, Robert W. Walker, in February 1945. They spent many hard-working years together nurturing and raising eight children and building two homes while holding down jobs to make it all work! Virginia was an adventurous daughter, a caring sister, a dependable friend, a loving wife, a knowledgeable nurse, a hard-working mom, a cherished grandma and great grandma.

She will be missed, cherished, and remembered by all who knew her. Virginia is survived by her sister June (Scheewe) Williams of Costa Mesa, California. Also surviving are Virginia’s 6 sons, 2 daughters, 22 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren: Bob Walker, Rian, Micah, and Tobin; Bill and Cathy Walker, Shawn, Gabe, and Lucy; Mary Ann and Dale Fossen, Kim, Amy, and Lisa; Dan and Patti Walker, Beau, Megan, Austin, and Annie; Elaine Shaw, Matt, Katie, Zach, and Tommy; Paul Walker, Melissa, Beth, and Ali; Joe Walker and Ashley; Ken Walker and Sarah.

The great-grandchildren are: Rian Walker—Isaiah, Alya, Kadence, Kendal Tobin Walker—Adrian, Kiera, Anise Shawn Walker—Halle, Harper, Haylen Kim (Fossen) Anthony—Mitch and Lane Amy (Fossen) Webb– Mya, Jackson, Amelia Rose Lisa (Fossen) Walters—Hazel Ann Beau Walker—Sadie Megan (Walker) Hamman—Walker and Issac Katie (Hodges) DeWeert—Tyler, Jenna, Anjelea, Alysa, Nathan Melissa (Walker) Nichols—Marti Beth (Walker) Parini—Kenzie, Cooper Ashley (Walker) Wittmier–Kenley Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Mary Scheewe, her husband Robert, John Jack and Alice Walker, and granddaughter Stephanie Fossen.
