Obituary for Earl Musgrove Earl Musgrove, 80, passed away November 11, 2018. He was the 12th of 14 children born to Elias and Mattie Lee Musgrove. He graduated in 1956 from Baker County High School in Newton, GA.

With his mother’s written permission, Earl joined the US Navy at age 17. He served two tours as a medic aboard the USS Norfolk, a submarine destroyer. While stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC, Earl met his wife of 35 years, Susan.

After being discharged, Mr. Musgrove went to work for Interstate Life Insurance Company. He was transferred to Pine Buff, AR in 1972. He remained with this company for 35 years, retiring in 1998.

Earl was a loving husband, father, friend, and neighbor. He always had a smile and a funny story to tell. Most will remember him for smoking his pipe.

He has been quoted as saying, “A pipe gives a wise man time to think, and a fool something to stick in his mouth”. Mr. Musgrove was preceded in death by his wife, Susan, and two infant children. Survivors include his dear Rita Fields of Johnson City, TN; his son, Tem Musgrove (Donna Compton) of Stephenville, TX; his son, Brent Musgrove of Little Rock, AR; his daughter Laura (Russ) Sparks of White Hall, AR; his Main Dude, Turner Sparks (grandson); his Ladybug, Leighton Sparks (granddaughter); and his ever faithful canine companion, Sanford.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 14, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Home, Pine Bluff, AR. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 17, at 11:00 am at the Traveler’s Rest Free Will Baptist Church, Newton, GA. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Mr. Musgrove will be buried at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery in Albany, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Online register: www.
