Age 83, unexpectedly, on Wed. January 2, 2019, of Churchill. Beloved husband of Mary Catullo Callender for 60 years.

Loving father of Linda (Jeffrey) Glace, Earl S. (Kristine) Callender, and Lisa (Joseph) Strittmatter. Treasured Pappap to Patrick and Sydney Glace, Michael, Nicholas, and Madison Callender, and Robert, Gabriella, Halle, and Noah Mitchell. Great Grand Pap to Eli Glace.

Brother of Raymond Callender and the late Jack and Donald Callender. Earl graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in electrical engineering and an Executive MBA. His successful 47-year career at Union Switch and Signal allowed him to travel 6 continents and develop multiple patents.

He will be remembered as a skilled card player, gracious host, and for his great wit. Family and friends received at Wolfe Memorial, LLC, Forest Hills Chapel, 3604 Greensburg Pike, Pittsburgh PA 15221, on Sunday only 2-4 and 6-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John Fisher Church, 33 Lewin Lane, Pittsburgh PA 15235, on Monday at 10am.
