Obituary for EARLENE MCCRAW NICHOLSON Earlene McCraw Nicholson, age 97, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 15, 2018 at Self Health Care in Hueytown. Al. , where she had been a resident for the past three years.

Earlene was born May 13, 1921 in Searles, Al. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elisha and Minnie McCraw; sister Hazel Owens; brothers Jewell McCraw, Carl McCraw, and George McCraw. She is survived by her sons Ed Lawley of McCalla, AL, Mike Lawley (Mary) of Carlsbad, CA, and Roger Lawley (Martha),of Warland, WY; daughter Linda Meigs (Jim) of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren Glenn Lawley, Gary Lawley, Todd Meigs, Jason Lawley, Amber Rutsey, Katie Schmeltzer, Talyor Lawley; great grandchildren Rachel Black, Alan Lawley, Page Wilson, Cameron Lawley, Alex Lawley, Carolyn Lawley, Jerod Rutsey, Katelyn Rutsey, David Schmeltzer, Macie Schmeltzer; and great-great grandchildren Kimberly Lawley, and Lillian Black.

Our Mother loved the Lord and her family. She instilled Christian values and beliefs in her children, and demonstrated them in her life. She and her husband, Carl Nicholson, ministered faithfully to the residents of Meadowood Nursing Home for over 25 years.

She was a founding member of Rock Mountain Lakes Baptist Church. She was a dedicated member of Westside Baptist Church in Bessemer for many years, and later a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, and the Baptist Church at McAdory until her death. Her life will be honored and celebrated Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home, Hueytown, Alabama, with viewing will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.

The funeral will be at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home with Dr. Bill McCall officiating. The burial will follow at Oak Grove First Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to the Baptist Church at McAdory general fund (www.
