Eddie Fred Purcell 72 of Lake Brownwood, passed from this life on Saturday, April 27, 2019. He was born Wednesday, June 12, 1946 to Fred and Nita Purcell in Brownwood. Eddie graduated from Bangs high school.

He married Raeanne Purcell on December 15, 1969 in Bryant, Texas. As a young man Eddie joined the United States Army as a clerk, where he served in Vietnam. Once being discharged from the army, Eddie returned home and went to work for Coca Cola Bottling Company in Brownwood where he retired after 30 years.

Eddie enjoyed his retirement life at the lake, fishing, hunting and golfing. But most of all just enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his son Eddie Ray. He is survived by his son Eddie Ray Purcell of Lake Brownwood, two daughter-in-laws; Rita Clark Purcell and Faye Purcell, two brothers; OJ and wife Gay Purcell, Mike and wife Cyndraye Purcell, three sisters; Marie Hays, Tula Simmons, Betty Purcell and sister-in-law Debbie Purcell, grandchildren; Brianne Purcell and husband Travis Tracy, Amanda Purcell, James Purcell, Courtney Jones and Patrick Jones, one great-granddaughter Alice and twins on the way.

He is proceded in death by his grandparents Walter and Lela Purcell, his brother Larry Purcell, two brother-in-laws; Jesse Simmons and Bill Hays and nephew Troy Weiss. Family would like to send out a special Thank you to all the family and friends that have showed love and support during this difficult time. And would like to extend an invitation to everyone that wishes to attend the Celebration of Life Dinner at 12 noon on May 18, 2019 “at the home place” (4951 Park Rd 15, Lake Brownwood) To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Eddie F Purcell please visit our Sympathy Store.
