Obituary for Eddith Mattox Graveside service for Eddith Pogue Mattox , 93, of Rio Vista, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 28, 2018 in the Rio Vista Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7:00 P.M, Thursday at the funeral home. Eddith Pogue Mattox, 93, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018.

Eddith was born in Covington, Texas to Oscar Pogue and Ruby Jane Willis. She worked at the Rio Vista Post Office for 30 years and was the Post Master from 1961-1987. JFK appointed her Post Master in 1961.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ford and husband John R.; brother, Robert Pogue; sisters-in-law, Gerda Pogue, Laura Pogue and Dawn Finnell; nieces, Charlotte Bolh and husband Jeff, Jacqueline Clark, Darla Squires and husband Ron, Donna Hanson and Sheila Mattox and partner Sharon; nephews, Mark Pogue and wife Pam, Karl Pogue and wife Dana, Mike Woodard and wife Elaine, Roy Meek and Dean Mattox; and great-aunt, Velma“Sug” Sears.
