Obituary of Edith Mary Volanto Edith Mary Volanto, 90, of Mays Landing, formerly of Paterson, NJ passed away in her home on March 7, 2019. She was born in Waldwick, NJ on April 14, 1928 to the late Giovanni and Generosa (Guida) DelGaizo. Edith worked for many years as a machinist at DelGaizo Vintage Toothpick Factory as well as at Uniweave Factory in Paterson.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband John Volanto in 1978. Edith was the treasured mother of John Volanto and his wife Sue and Raymond Volanto; the cherished grandmother of Anne Volanto, Stacey Volanto, Stefanie Volanto-Kashickey and her husband Thomas and Liana Volanto and the great grandmother of Scarlett and Sabine Kashickey and Christopher Moats. She was the dear sister of Frank and Dominic DelGaizo, Nicoline Griffin and Jenny Smith and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by 10 siblings. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00am-12:00pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave. , Woodland Park, NJ.
A funeral service will begin at 12pm at the funeral home and burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.
