Edna Martha (Symancyk) Cressotti died on Friday, December 14, 2018. Edna was born in Westfield on July 29, 1924, the daughter of John and Eva (Condel) Symancyk. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 68 years Frank, who remained always in her heart.

Edna graduated from Westfield High School in 1943. She worked at Kellogg Brush and for many years at JJ Newbury’s. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Westfield before joining Grace Lutheran Church in West Springfield where she was an active member of The Needlers.

Edna had a love for sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting and baking but her greatest love was for her family. She will be remembered by her children, Frank Cressotti and his wife Anne of Southampton, MA, Karen Callini and her husband Andrew of Westfield, and Karl Cressotti and his wife Mary of Cheshire, CT. Edna will be greatly missed by her 14 grandchildren; Dawn Fitzpatrick and her husband Jim, Jennifer Cressotti (deceased), Deanna Collins and her husband Ted, Kurt Cressotti and his wife Jennifer, Joe Cressotti, Stefan Cressotti and his wife Laura, Anna Cressotti, Anthony Callini and his wife Stephanie, Carla Callini, Nicholas Callini and his wife Kristen, Anya Macmillan and her husband Scott, Karl Cressotti and his wife Wendy, Kyra Tafel and her husband Gus, and Francis Cressotti.

Edna has also been blessed in her lifetime with 22 great grandchildren. Edna is survived by her sister Wanda Miller of Lincoln, CA, her sister-in-law Jennie Hart of Southwick, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her siblings William, John, Edward, Alfred, Adolph, Lydia and Amelia.

The family wishes to thank the staff and her roommate, Jean Lamoureaux, of the Governor’s Center for their friendship, support and compassionate care over the past year. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 11 am to 12:30 pm at Firtion-Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, followed by a service at 12:30 pm and burial at St. John’s Cemetary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Governor’s Center, 66 Broad Street, Westfield 01085, or the Grace Lutheran Church, 1552 Westfield Street, West Springfield, MA 01089.
