He returned to Loganville often to deer hunt with his sons and brother, Evan. After graduating from Webb High School in Reedsburg in 1959, Ed enlisted in the US Army. He served his country from January 1960 until November 1962, spending much of that time in France before being honorably discharged.
He was looking forward to an upcoming Honor Flight in May of this year. Ed married Carolyn Steinke on September 26th, 1964. Ed worked as a carpenter and credit manager until the mid 1970’s when he started his own business as a home builder.

Ed spent his free time in retirement travelling with Carolyn to casinos near and far, and also to several countries including France where he visited his son Brian.
Ed and Carolyn especially enjoyed taking bus trips throughout the United States with their friends. Above all, Ed loved his family. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn, and his children Kurt (Stacy), Stevens Point, and Brian (Sarah), Greenville, SC.
