OBITUARY Edward C. Avery December 15, 1958 – September 7, 2018 Edward Carl Avery left this world to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on September 7, 2018 at his home with his family by his side. Ed was born on December 15, 1958 in Upland, California, the only son of 5 children born to Carl Avery and Emily Avery. Ed spent his childhood in Ontario, California, and attended Episcopal Day School in Ontario.

The family moved to Armona, California, where Ed attended Armona Parkview (where he would later teach) and graduated from Hanford High School. Ed would later receive his teaching degree from Fresno State. Ed is preceded in death by his father, Carl Avery, his mother, Emily West, and his sister, Rosemary Avery.

Ed taught at Armona Parkview Middle School for 25 years, and was loved and adored by his students and fellow faculty members. If you knew him, you knew he was always the smartest man in the room. Ed enjoyed keeping busy and staying active by cooking, gardening, reading, fishing, playing baseball & basketball, playing poker with friends, making people laugh, and spending quality time with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Pilar Avery, his son, Ethan Avery, his daughter, Madison Avery, his sisters, Pat Leasure (John), Pauline Avery, Lilly Chacon (Greg), and numerous nieces and nephews. Ed’s impact on his family, friends, and students will be cherished forever. His passion for education was admirable and he always pushed both his students and his children to do their best and to not give up on their dreams.

He planted seeds of hope in many hearts and never failed to be understanding and open minded. He will be greatly missed; however, this is not a goodbye, but a see you later.
