Mr. Edward C. Burfeindt, 79, of Beverly Hills, FL passed away on Friday, March 15, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on June 22, 1939 in Floral Park, New York, son of the late Magnus and Gesine Burfeindt. Edward was a US Army veteran serving from 1961 to 1963.

He began his accounting career working for Arthur Young Accounting Firm after college. He then worked for De Coppet & Doremus before becoming the Comptroller for the City of Glen Cove. Ed retired as the Finance Director for Nassau County.

He and his wife, Janet, retired to Beverly Hills, FL from Glen Cove, NY in 2002. He continued to help others with his accounting experience. He was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Hernando, FL.

Ed enjoyed playing golf. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Janet Burfeindt of Beverly Hills, FL; sons, Edward J. Burfeindt and his wife Jolene of Homosassa, FL and Craig Burfeindt and his wife Lisa of Fanwood, NJ; brothers, John Burfeindt and his wife Marge of PA and Robert Burfeindt and his wife Dorothy of OH; grandchildren, Drew and Chloe Burfeindt of Fanwood, NJ; Taylor Thompson of Conway, AR; Alexander Thompson of Homosassa, FL; Danielle St. Clair of Homosassa, FL; great grandchildren, Trenton and Azalea. A Memorial Service for Mr. Burfeindt will be announced at a later date.
