Edward Duff Smith, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on April 19, 2018. Edward is survived by his devoted wife Barbara; his daughter Pam; his step daughter Lisa Williams (Ricky); grandchildren, J. Cooper, McKenna and Nicole; great grandchildren, Hailey and Ayden. He is also survived by a twin sister, Elizabeth S. Hughes of Baltimore, Maryland and many nieces and nephews.

Edward was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1930 to Edward A. Smith, an attorney, and Naomi Duff Smith, a public relations executive. He attended St Pauls’ School in Baltimore and the University of Maryland. Edward served for many years as a lifeguard for the Ocean City Beach Patrol in Ocean City, Maryland.

Following service in the United States Marine Corp, Mr. Smith worked for many years for Commercial Credit Company in human res. He later became a human res manager for Amtrak in the Washington, D.C. office. Services will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church, 4001 Hendricks Ave.

, Jacksonville, FL 32207 (time to be determined). In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the local ASPCA or Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church in his name.
