Edward F. Novy Age 85, of Braidwood, IL passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL. Born October 17, 1933 in Braidwood to the late Edward and Ella (nee Onderick) Novy. He served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958 and then he married Anna Mae Powell on March 2, 1963 at the First Methodist Church in Wilmington, IL.

Ed was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed hunting, fishing and helping others. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and his wife of 56 years. He retired from BASF Chemical Corp.

Surviving are his wife, Anna Mae Novy of Braidwood, IL; sons, Kevin Novy and Brian Novy; daughter, Karen (Scott) Wenberg all of Braidwood, IL; grandchildren, Jessica and Tyler Wenberg; brother, James (Lauren) Novy of AZ; sisters, Helen (Curtis) Saltzman of Braidwood, IL and Marian (Archie) Schmidt of Geneseo, IL; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Braceville Gardner Cemetery in Braceville, IL.

Visitation will be on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 4 pm to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in his name may be directed to the Joliet Area Community Hospice. For more information and to visit his online guestbook, please log on to www.
