Obituary for Edward G. Riley Edward G. Riley, age 81, of Carleton, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018 at ProMedica Regional Hospital in Monroe, Michigan. Born on September 3, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of Nelson and Virginia (Ortberg) Riley. On March 14, 1959 he married Blanche Roberts in Detroit, MI.

Edward was employed with the Detroit Police Department as a Police Officer for 25 years until retiring in 1995 and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He enjoyed playing euchre and bridge, taking walks, practicing his boogie moves with his wife and listening to music on his precious “Alexa”. During the summer months he loved to plant flowers, tend to his landscaping and was the Carleton Glen Golf Course Professional Mole Exterminator.

Most of all, he loved spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Margaret Herberts. He is survived by his wife Blanche “Pat” Riley of Carleton; son Michael Riley of CA; daughters Terri (John) Laskowski of NY and Jackie (Brian) Nocella of New Boston; brother Nelson Glen Riley of Canton; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit in the Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home Carleton Chapel on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 11:00 am. Todd Lipa will officiate the service.

Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to the St. John Lutheran Church. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Edward G. Riley please visit our Sympathy Store.
