Edward J. Kochanek ascended to Heaven June 25, 2018 surrounded by his loving children after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Ludlow, Mass September 15 to John and Stephanie Kochanek, Edward was a veteran of the United States Army. He was an employee of the city of Springfield as a school custodian until his retirement, as well as owning his own painting and snow removal businesses.
Most recently, Edward worked for Balise Motor Group as a vehicle runner for the past 8 years. Edward is survived by his children: Karen Kochanek and fiancée Aaron Morrison, Christopher Kochanek and his wife Berry Kochanek, and Michael Kochanek and his girlfriend Cayla Briggs, as well as his six grandchildren: Nicole, Cameron, Morgan, Kendall, Bradley and Briella. Edward and his unique sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
A Graveside Service with military honors will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Cemetery, 1273 Berkshire Ave. , Indian Orchard. Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services is entrusted with arrangements.
