Edward J. Shearer, age 78 of Bourbon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka Campus with his loving family by his side. Edward was born on June 3, 1940 in Marshall County to Harvey and Hilda (Young) Shearer. On June 23, 1968 Edward married the former Rosemary Klapp.

He was a graduate of the Bourbon High School and a lifelong resident of Marshall County. Those left to cherish Edward’s memory are his wife of 50 years, Rosemary of Bourbon; his son, Stephen (Clara) Shearer of Columbia City, Indiana; also surviving is Edward’s granddaughter, Heather North of Shipshewana, Indiana and his great-grandchild, Dante Schumucher of Shipshewana, Indiana; his sisters, Norma Swihart of Osceola, Indiana and Linda Metheny of Granite Falls, Washington; Edward is preceded in passing by his parents, sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Robert Cain, and his brother, Ralph Shearer. The Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements for the Shearer family. A time of visiting with the Shearer family will be held in the Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main Street Bourbon, Indiana 46504 on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Shearer family request memorial contributions in Edward’s name to given to the Marshall County Humane Society, P.O.
