Obituary for Edward J. Watson Ed went home to be with the Lord on July 23, 2018. Ed was born on May 16, 1932 in Canton, Ohio to Roy and Irene (Brown) Watson. He graduated from Louisville High School in 1951 and was a Life Member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Maximo.

He served in the U. S. Army. Ed retired from General Motors of Lordstown after employment for over 28 years. He enjoyed farming, playing cards, whipping his daughter in law at Euchre, and golfing while smoking his favorite cigars, with his cousin Tom.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #166 of Alliance, and also a 25 year volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Survivors include his wife, Polly (Miner) whom he married on September 10, 1960; four sons, Timothy (Barb) Watson of Jupiter, FL. Scott (Sherry) Watson of Alliance, Eric (Barbara) Watson of Canton and Todd Watson of Homeworth.

He imparted his sage wisdom to his 6 grandchildren: Nicole, Kelsey, TK, Jared, Allen, and Nicholas. Sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Ed Lamielle, and a passel of nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy and John Paul.

The family will receive friends on Thursday July 26, 2018 from 7:00 pm till 9:00 pm at Walton-Schrader Funeral Home. His mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday July 27, 2018 at 10:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Maximo with Rev. Joseph Ruggieri, as celebrant.

Burial will immediately follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Maximo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alliance Hospice or to St. Joseph Catholic Church of Maximo. Arrangements are by the Walton-Schrader Funeral Home, 1131 West State Street, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
