Edward went to be with the Lord Saturday February 9, 2019, he passed away peacefully at Kobacker House, he was 92. He was preceded in death by his parents G. Erven Wood and Ethel Mae Keith Wood and his wife of 68 years Ruth. He is survived by his daughter Marsha (Keith) Goble, son Mark (Lori) Wood, grandchildren Kelly Wood, Aaron (Stephanie) Bassham, Rae (Tony) Harper, Ryan (RP) Pettit, Jordan (Josh) Kapsch, Lisa (Danny) Coleman, Kyle (Patty) Goble, Jason (Alexis) Goble, Julie (John) Coffee, 14 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, numerous family and friends.

Edward attended West Broad Church of the Nazarene. He was born March 8, 1926 in Franklin County, OH. He was a retired welder.

Edward proudly served in the U. S. Navy in WWII on the Aircraft Carrier USS Intrepid CV-11 as a Gunner’s Mate. He was a 40 year member of New England Lodge # 4, and the Aladdin Temple Shrine, Legion of Honor Unit. He had many interests including Southern Gospel Music, Lawrence Welk, hunting, woodworking in his shop and The Ohio State Buckeyes.

A celebration of Edwards’ life with family and friends will be held at RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 W Olentangy St. Powell, OH 43065, Friday February 15th, 4-7 PM and Service Saturday February 16th, at 10:00 AM, Rev. Warren Banks and Rev. Scott Fulcher officiating.

Interment Dublin Cemetery following the service. His family would like to thank the staff of Kobacker House for their compassion and care during his final days. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to: Kobacker House.
