Edward Lee Wooden, “Big Edd” 68, of Pikeville, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at his home after suffering through many illnesses over the years. He was born November 28, 1949 to Arthur & Eliza. Edd was a graduate of the Bledsoe County High School Class of 1967.

Prior to his years of service to the Bledsoe Co. Sherriff’s office, he worked at numerous jobs including a school bus driver, the oil drilling industry, the Bledsoe County Highway Department, Bledsoe Farmer’s Co-op, construction, and as a truck driver for Fields Trucking. Edd enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, entertaining in their home where family and friends always gathered, camping, road trips and driving tours with his wife, and classic cars, especially his 1949 Ford Coupe. Edd loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them and making memories.
A man of great wisdom, Edd was often referred to lovingly by his wife as the “Wise One”. He enjoyed listening to various types of music including gospel, blues, country, and bluegrass. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eliza Solomon Fields, and his father, Arthur Lee Wooden, two brothers, Jerry Wooden and Wendell “Ham” Wooden, sister, Wanda “Keet” Zane, grandparents, Bill and Eula Solomon, Eli and Buba Wooden, and Virgil and Wilva Fields.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jacquelynn Parrino Wooden, of 34 years, dad, Ray Fields, son, Tim Churches, daughter-in-law, Jessica Swafford Churches, one granddaughter, Kaylynn Churches, one grandson, Karter Churches, all of Pikeville, TN, one sister, Sue Wooden (Doug) Holland, of Naples, FL, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. A Celebration of Life will be 4:00 pm CDT Friday, June 29, 2018 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. DonnieLawson, Bro.
James Daggett, Bro. Jerry Merciers, and Bro. Wayne Wicker officiating.
The family will receive friends 5:00-9:00 pm CDT Wednesday, June 27, 8:00 am-9:00 pm CDT Thursday and 8:00 am until service time Friday. Burial will be in McDowell Cemetery. Law Enforcement officers of Bledsoe County will serve as honorary pallbearers.
