Edward Louis Moe, 91, passed away Monday, October 22, 2018 at 7:05 a.m. at Sandstone Health Care Center in Sandstone, MN. Edward was born June 30, 1927 to Eleanora and Henry Moe at home in Chanhassen Township. He had 5 siblings; his identical twin brother, James, brothers Donald and Russell and sisters, Shirley and Ann.

Later on, the family moved to Minnetonka Manor where the boys helped their father build the family home. The twins also worked with their father in his business building boats, canoes and bobbers for income amongst other things. Edward attended Deephaven High School.

He lived most of his life in Minnetonka Manor and after his father passed away, he continued to live with his mother, taking care of her for many years. Edward had a major heart attack in his 40’s and he told Jesus that if he would be allowed to live, he would serve Jesus forever and Edward did just that. He and his sister Ann preached the gospel, sang beautiful hymns, gave their testimonies, prayed for the sick and heavy laden and also, whenever there was an opportunity to do so, prayed with many to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Edward and Ann were a team of faithful and dedicated servants to the Lord Jesus Christ. Edward worked as a general contractor. He built docks and boat landings, installed boat canopies, and did tree service work amongst other things around the Lake Minnetonka area.

He was a dedicated, very hard worker and was always willing to help someone in need. He was a caring, loving, thoughtful, patient, understanding, forgiving and giving person. He was a servant of God and a blessing to all who knew him.

When Edward’s mother passed away, he sold the home place and moved into an apartment in Waconia, MN. He loved to go up to Willow River and stay with his twin, James and James’ family. Some of the things Edward really enjoyed were fishing, bowling, cooking, baking, visiting and sharing God’s Word with others.

Edward remained in the apartment in Waconia until an accident in which he was run over and his hip was fractured. After surgery and rehab, he was moved to Elim Homes in Watertown, MN to live. Shortly thereafter, he asked to be moved to Augustana Care in Moose Lake, MN to be near James and sister-in-law, Nancy.

Most currently, Edward and James have resided at Sandstone Health Care Center in Sandstone, MN, sharing the last years of their lives together, which brought them great happiness. Edward is survived by his brother, James; sisters, Shirley (Jay) Gregg, Ann (Dino) Tumbuan; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Eleanora Moe; brothers, Donald and Russell Moe; and wife, Bernice Moe.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 10, 2018, at the Church of Victory, 6315 Brogade, Askov, MN. Reviewal is from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. with service at 2:00. Dinner will be served after the service, with interment to follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Willow River, MN.

Arrangements are by Souder-Handevidt Funeral & Cremation Service, Cloquet, Minnesota.
