Obituary for Edward “ED” Barefield Edward Paul Barefield went home to be with his Savior on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at St. Patrick Hospital of heart failure. He was surrounded by his family. Ed was born in Great Falls on November 26, 1950, to Edward Donald Barefield and Mary Ann Restelli.
Ed lived in Great Falls where he attended St Mary’s grade school and graduated from GFCCHS. He participated in baseball, basketball, track and football. He went on to MSU on a football scholarship, Go Bobcats!
He loved fishing, hunting, camping, anything outdoors. On March 27, 1971 he married the love of his life, Pam Tanberg. They lived in Bozeman.
MT for many years. After football, Ed was a contractor, built numerous homes in the Bozeman area. He moved his family to Seattle, WA for 10 years and then returned to Missoula, MT.
He was active in Missoula New Life church, where he served as an elder on the board. Some of his passions were reading and studying, he also liked preaching and counseling. He helped coach football and track on the high school level for several years.
Ed was preceded in death by his mother Mary Ann, brothers David Barefield, Kraig Englehart and grandparents. Ed was a devoted son, husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pam, father Ed Barefield (Donna), sons Chris (Corrina), Jory (Christine), daughters Lisa Maciag (Beau) and Andrea Hren (Lucas); grandchildren: Brandon, Hunter, Jacob, Noah, Caleb, Jaxson, Taylor, Remi, Hayden, Barrett, and Sadie.
His brothers Don and Brent Barefield of Bozeman, and Kurt and Kris Englehart of Seattle, and sister Karla Englehart of Portland, OR. And numerus extended family members There will be a celebration of life at Missoula New Life Church 1714 S Reserve St, Missoula MT at 11 AM, Saturday July 14, 2018 followed by a potluck reception at Chris Barefield’s home 9300 Beierle Lane, Missoula.
