OBITUARY Edward R. Wagner February 10, 1928 – January 19, 2019 Edward R. Wagner, 90, of Sandwich, passed away on Jan. 19 at Cape Cod Hospital. He is the beloved husband of Mary (Blanchard) Wagner.

Born on February 10, 1928 in Penfield, NY, he was a graduate of Penfield High School and the University of Rochester, holding bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physics. As an employee of the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory he worked as a nuclear engineer for General Electric and its contract for the U.S. Navy for 30 years. During that time he became a member, then secretary, finally Chair of the American Nuclear Society’s Northeastern New York Section.

Upon retirement in 1992, He and his wife, moved to East Sandwich, MA where she founded Mary’s Bookstore, a fixture in the Sandwich community for over twenty-five years. Ed was an active communicant at Corpus Christi Parish. He also became a lay Fransiscan brother at the Marian Friary of Our Lady, Queen of the Seraphic Order in New Bedford.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his son Edward W. Wagner and daughter-in-law Karen Schneiderman of Boston, his son Michael Wagner and daughter-in-law Tamrea Wagner of Troy, New York, his daughter Eileen Wagner of Boston, his daughter Teresa Wagner and son-in-law Christopher Domenech also of Troy New York. He also leaves five grandchildren and six grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11am Thursday January 31, 2019 at Corpus Christi Parish 324 Quaker meeting house rd.

Sandwich, MA, and visiting hour will be held from 9:30-10:30AM at Corpus Christi Parish. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts national cemetery in Bourne, MA. For directions and online condolences please visit www.
