Obituary for EDWARD RILEY AMICK SR. Edward Riley Amick, Sr., of Concord, Alabama, was born on May 28. , 1922 and went home to Heaven on his 96th birthday on May 28, 2018.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Mattie Lois Amick; daughter, Aurelia Merle Johns; parents Edmond and Lou Amick; and three brothers. He is survived by one son, Edward, Jr. (Barbara); two grandchildren, Paige Watkins (Michael) and Matthew Amick (fiance Mollie Beth Wallace); two great grandchildren, Dylan and Daniel Watkins; one sister, Era Stockton; and a host of family and friends. Born in Winston County, he and his wife moved to Jefferson County shortly after their marriage.

After many years of employment with U.S. Steel, he retired in 1984. Papa was hardworking and talented in every task he undertook and always willing to help anyone. He was a faithful member of Hueytown Church of God and always there when his health permitted until he was placed on Hospice in October of 2014.

The visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Tuesday, at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at 2:00 PM, at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery.

What a wonderful life he enjoyed which was well deserved and now he is at rest. WELL DONE THY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT! To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of EDWARD RILEY AMICK SR.
