Obituary for Edward T. Clarke Edward T. Clarke of 67 Rockland Avenue, Larchmont passed away on December 30 at the age of 91. He was born in Mount Vernon, NY on April 18, 1927, the second child and oldest son of William and Evelyn (nee Mitchell) Clarke. He graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School, Bronx, NY and attended the Stonier Graduate School of Banking.

A Larchmont resident for more than 60 years, Mr. Clarke is survived by his wife, Rita M. Clarke, of the home address whom he met in 1956 when they both were employed by the County Trust Company in White Plains. During his residence, he was active in local business as an employee of the Bank of New York and a member of the Lions Club for many years. He retired from a long career at the Bank of New York in 1985.

Mr. Clarke was an avid collector of antique cars and filled many happy hours during his 35-year plus retirement with car restoration projects. When he was unable to find parts for the antique cars at flea markets, he made them himself in his home workshop. He also enjoyed home renovation projects and mechanical projects including building models, restoring furniture that he found at tag sales, and designing and building gadgets for the home.

He delighted in his grandchildren and teaching them his mechanical skills. He taught his daughters the importance of financial planning, how to have fun, and the satisfaction of a job well done. Mr. Clarke was a long-time parishioner of Sts.

John and Paul Church in Larchmont. In addition to his wife, Rita, he is survived by a daughter, Carol Clarke, and granddaughter, Madeleine Beck, of White Plains, NY; a daughter, Kathy Roush, and son-in-law, Bob Roush, of Fairfield, CT and three grandchildren, Christina, Daniel, and Timothy Roush; and a daughter, Nancy Clarke, of Norwalk, CT.
