Obituary for Edward Vincent Grace Edward Vincent Grace was born on January 28, 1948 at Redlands Community Hospital, the son of James W. and Bertha Rose Grace (nee Serr). He died on May 22, 2018 in Palm Springs. Ed is survived by his sister, Michelle Grace McBride (Allen) of Redlands; his sister, Donna Grace Gaddy (Duane) of Rochester, WA; and nieces and nephew Kathryn Gaddy, Jamie Poggendorf (Mark) and Jeremy Gaddy.

He attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Redlands High School in 1965. Over the years he remained an enthusiastic supporter of class activities and reunions. When his father died in 1967, Ed joined his mother in managing the family business, Serr’s of Redlands, a State Street mainstay for 60 years.

When the store closed in 1988 he pursued other interests in Los Osos, Paso Robles, and the Palm Springs area. Ed will be remembered as a compassionate and loyal brother and friend, with a dry wit, keen artistic sense, love for all things panda and fine appreciation of sweets. A celebration of Ed’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Redlands Church of Christ, 1000 Roosevelt Rd at Highland Avenue, under the direction of Sunset Funeral Care.
