Edward W. Lukiewski, of Cheltenham, PA died peacefully at his home on January 4, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Philadelphia, PA on October 6, 1924, he was the son of the late Anna (Wojciechowski) and Dominick Lukiewski. He was predeceased by his sisters Helen Gillespie and Irene Kozlakiewicz and his brother Raymond.

Edward served with distinction in the U.S. Navy in WW II. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves and retired as a Colonel in 1984. Edward was involved… Read More » with Polonia Bank for 60 years.

He was president of the bank from 1988 to 1995. Edward is survived by his loving wife of seventy years, Stella (Czuba) Lukiewski, his children: Nancy Hagdorn (George), Sr. Linda Lukiewski SSJ, Joan Cardellino, Edward Lukiewski, Jr (Susan), Mary Larson (Drew), Victoria Lukiewski-Powell (Steven), and Christopher Lukiewski (Tracey). Also survived by his eleven grandchildren: Andrew Hagdorn, Matthew, John Luke and Mark Cardellino, Nathan, Sarah, Erica and Adam Larson, Thomas Lukiewski, Elizabeth Courtney and Laura Powell.

Also survived by his five great grandchildren: Liam and Colin Hagdorn, Josephine Rose Cardellino, Brynn Elizabeth and Shay Elise Courtney. Family and friends are invited to his visitation on Saturday, January 12 at Saint James Church 8320 Brookside Rd, in Elkins Park, PA. at 9:30AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM.

Interment at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery in Doylestown, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Villa 110 W. Wissahickon Ave. Flourtown, PA 19031.
