OBITUARY Edward Weber October 3, 1921 – December 27, 2018 Edward Benjamin Weber, 97, of East Peoria, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Unity Point Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria. Born October 3, 1921 in Peoria to Robert and Mary (Burdoes) Weber; he married Shirley Alberts on August 11, 1944 in Chicago, IL. She preceded him in death on October 4, 2012 in East Peoria.

Surviving are his grandson, Tim (Ashley) Weber of Johnston City, Illinois; great granddaughters, Madison and Bailey Weber, of Johnston City; sister, Virginia (Don) Norvil of Morton; sister-in-law, Kay Alberts of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews. Ed had the distinction of being a veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict where he served the US Navy as a Motor Machinists Mate Second Class and aboard the ship LST – 125. He enjoyed a forty-three year career with Caterpillar Inc, last working as a purchasing agent when he retired in 1983.

Ed was very devoted to his membership in the Mohammed Temple Shrine and also the Legion of Honor and the Great Lakes Shrine Association, both of which he served as a Past Commander in 1981 and 1996, respectively. Among his passions were hunting, fishing, gardening and entertaining family and friends. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Peoria where services will be at 11:00 am Monday, December 31, 2018 with visitation one hour prior to the service.

The Rev. Steven Tibbitts will officiate. Burial with Navy Funeral Honors will follow at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.

Memorials are suggested to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
