Obituary for Edwin J. Clark Sr. Edwin J. Clark Sr. of Mineola, NY passed on July 5, 2018 in his 86th year. Edwin was born June 17, 1932. He is survived by beloved wife Dorothy of 60 years.
Loving Father of Deborah (Peter), Dee (Brian) and Edwin Jr. (Kelly). Dear Grandfather of Shawn, Shannon, Rebecca, Madison, Jack and Thomas Edwin met his girlfriend, the little blond girl with pigtails from across the street, he was 9 years old, she was 5 years old. He proudly joined the Air Force at 17 and went on to serve as a Staff Sergeant and Air Policeman in England at Lakenheath and Mildenhall Air Force Bases.
He fondly remembered his time there often. Edwin came home to get engaged and marry his girlfriend from across the street. He attended the Academy of Aeronautics which encouraged his love for airplanes and his job as a TWA Mechanic.
He was very proud of the fact that he was able to take his children all over the world since they were babies. On weekends he built a cabin with his father, we called the “shack”, upstate in the Catskill mountains. He left a wonderful legacy for his children and grandchildren.
We all love it there. He was a wonderful provider and always wanted Mom to have something special and to always have flowers. She said she had everything she needed.
Our “Daddy” was special to us. He gave us all such knowledge from building a house to fixing just about anything. He was a very kind and giving person and always helped anyone when needed.
He would have done anything for his Children. Grandpa always had candy or “dollars” for his grandkids. He fought a huge battle and now God has granted him peace.
We hope he is pain free and carefree and in a better place now. We are sad, have heavy hearts and will miss him dearly. Up, Up and Away……… Visitation will be held Sunday July 8th 3-5PM & 7-9PM at the Roslyn Heights Funeral Home 75 Mineola Ave.
