Obituary for Edwin Lee Smirco Edwin Lee Smirco, 83, of Fredericksburg passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Mary Washington Hospital. Edwin was a veteran of the United States Army. He was very proud to have served his country in the military and by working as a postal worker.

Edwin loved spending time with his family especially with his grandchildren. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan, bowled on a bowling league, collected coins, and enjoyed the outdoors. Edwin is survived by his children, Steven Smirco and Cheryl Huff and her husband, Gary, all of Fredericksburg, and Susan and Karen Smirco, both of Spotsylvania County; four grandchildren, Erin and her husband Lee, Eric and Danielle, Tyler, and Andy; four great grandchildren, Christian, Ayden, Jackie, and Marleigh; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, Edwin’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216.
