Obituary of Edwin H. Gaynier Edwin H. Gaynier, 82, of Trenton, died Friday, March 15, 2019 in Riverview. He was born July 15, 1936 in Berlin Twp. to Neland and Dora.

Edwin graduated from Airport High School in 1954 and was president of his graduating class. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served two years, as Specialist 3rd Class. Upon his return home, Edwin enrolled at Henry Ford Community College and worked at Ford Motor as a draftsman.

On June 7, 1958 he married Angela Iott, together they shared 39 years of marriage. He would eventually earn his Associates Degree and go on to finish his 41 year career at Ford as a designer. Edwin was an avid golfer and bowler.

He spent many years coaching Brian and Craig’s hockey teams and enjoyed attending Cindy and Marcia’s many extracurricular activities. He was very active with Eric and the Downriver Panthers, an organization that provided adaptive sports and recreation for people with disabilities. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren at their sporting events, dance recitals and church choir concerts.

He was an active member of Faith Christian Assembly in Melvindale. Survived by his children, Brian (Helen), Craig (Beverly), Cynthia (Steven) Davenport, Marcia (Claude) Bergeron and Eric; grandchildren, Molly, Emily, Audrey, Jessica, Deanna, Maya, Marc, Andrew, Luc, Lauren and Isaac; and siblings, Milo (Peggy) and Dawn Giblin. Preceded in death by his wife, Angela; parents, and siblings, Marcella, Donald, Dale and Karen.
