OBITUARY Effie Byrd August 13, 1937 – September 30, 2018 Effie Mae Coate Byrd, 81, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Coffeeville, Alabama on August 13, 1937 to George “Buster” and Onie White Coate. She is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, husband Louis “Max” Byrd, Sr., and son Louis “Max” Byrd, Jr

Mrs. Byrd was the owner and manager of A & M Portables, Inc She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Mashburn; grandchildren, Brandon (Jamie) Mashburn, Jessica (Devin) Peterson, and Jon Lucas Byrd; daughter-in-law, Nancy Byrd; sisters, Myrtie Fountain, Jeanette Williamson, Anna Townsend, and Judy Deas; four great grandchildren; special friend, Mary Alice Shields, and the Coffeeville High School graduating class of 1955. Funeral services for Mrs. Byrd will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland with visitation from 10:00 AM until service time.

Interment will follow services at 2:00 PM that afternoon in Coffeeville Cemetery, Coffeeville, Alabama. The family will be accepting friends at Radney Funeral Home, Saraland on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Condolences may be offered at www.
