Eileen Doran Griffeth, 88, of Estero, FL passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 2, 2019 in Fort Myers, FL. Eileen was born July 2, 1930 in the Bronx, NY a daughter of the late James and Mary (Marmion) Doran. Formerly of Cheshire, CT, she and husband Donald G. Griffeth began wintering in Estero, FL in 1990 before making it their permanent home in 2012.

In addition to her beloved husband of 67 years, survivors include her loving children, Donald Griffeth Jr. of North Haven, CT, James Griffeth of Waltham, MA, Gregory Griffeth (Geralyn Sale-Griffeth) of Branford, CT and Mary (Ronald) Wood of Oakhill, VA; sister, Josephine Seifts of Charlotte, NC; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 5 siblings. Eileen was a member of The Farms Country Club in Wallingford CT for over 30 years where she learned to play and love the game of golf.

She won many tournaments during her golfing years, and patiently taught her husband and children to learn and love the game as well. As a supportive mother, she also encouraged her children to pursue many extracurricular activities, most notably, competitive swimming. After moving to Pelican Sound Golf and River Club in Estero, Eileen continued to enjoy playing golf, entertaining, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends and family will miss her beautiful laugh and her optimistic outlook on life. A memorial service to celebrate Eileen’s life will be held at 1pm on May 25th at St. James the Apostle Church in Carmel, New York. Online condolences may be offered by visiting www.
