Elaine M. DeFauw, 80, of East Moline, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Cremation will take place and memorial visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Immediately following the visitation, the family will greet guests from 1:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. at the River House Bar & Grill, 1510 River Dr., Moline.

Memorials may be made to the East Moline Library. Elaine was born on February 17, 1938, in Moline, the daughter of William and Milda (Ross) Marlier. She married Albert D. DeFauw on April 20, 1956, in Moline.

He preceded her in death on November 16, 2018. Elaine had previously worked as a secretary for John Deere Harvester Works. She enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader.

She was an accomplished painter and also enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge. Elaine’s day was not complete without a nice glass of chardonnay. Survivors include daughter, Arlyce and her husband, James Logan, Moline; sons, Dan and his wife, Nikki DeFauw, Davenport, and David DeFauw and Vicki, Rock Island; grandchildren, Alecia and her husband, Ryan Burns, Chicago, Lance Logan, Chicago, Mitchell and his wife, Nicole DeFauw, Iowa City, Kyle DeFauw, Davenport, Jared DeFauw, Davenport, Hannah DeFauw, Iowa City; sister, LaNeva Birkel, East Moline; and brother, Larry and his wife, Pam Marlier, LeClaire.

Memories may be shared on the tribute wall.
