Elaine Dehulla Tremko March 03, 1939 – February 26, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Elaine Dehulla Tremko departed this earth on February 26, 2019. She leaves behind her husband of 62 years, Peter Tremko from Edgewood, New Mexico, three sons, Peter Tremko from Madison, Alabama, Brian Tremko from Edgewood, New Mexico, Kenneth Tremko from Raton, New Mexico, daughter Laurie Tremko Housel of Lake View, North Carolina, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Elaine was born in Stafford Springs, Connecticut to Julian Dehulla and Hella Mantha Dehulla and attended Stafford High School.

She married Peter in 1956 and they raised their family in Willington, Connecticut. In 1979, Peter and Elaine were transferred to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico for Peter’s job with the US Soil Conservation Service. Flood control projects moved them to several different cities in New Mexico including Santa Fe and Rio Rancho.

As they neared retirement they bought property in Laguna Vista by Heron Lake and built a custom cabin home overlooking the lake. Elaine loved mountain living where she enjoyed the wildlife that were frequently found in her yard. She kept a beautiful garden and spent many hours working on growing flowers, vegetables, strawberries, and rhubarb.

Elaine loved cooking with the foods she grew and neighbors often stopped in for coffee and her home baked goods. Her greatest joy came when the Grand Children came and stayed at the cabin to visit for vacations. Elaine loved to travel.

Together, her and Peter, RV’d to Alaska and across the US visiting every state in the country. They became “winter Texans” in South Padre and loved their walks on the beach, nightly jams, and trips to Mexico. Recently, they moved to Edgewood, NM and resided in the Beehive Assisted living, a warm and welcoming home.

A Funeral Service is scheduled for Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Harris Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM. The Viewing will be at 3:00 P.M. with the Service to follow at 4:00 P.M. Pallbearers will be Brian Tremko, Ken Tremko, Peter Tremko III, Mark Housel, Joy Nickel, Valerie Cousineau, Peter Tremko IV, Chris Tremko and Robert Tremko. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jason Tremko and Jeremy Tremko.

Services are being arranged through Harris Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty NM.
