Elaine Marie (Munson) Lindahl, age 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, May 23, 2018 at her home in the memory care unit at Twin Rivers Senior Campus. A lifelong resident of Cannon Falls, she was born at home in Goodhue County (near Vasa) on July 17, 1931 and raised on a farm east of town. She attended country school at the “5 mile schoolhouse” and graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1949.

Over the years she held various administrative positions at Kid Duds, Mineral Springs Sanatorium, and Midwest Importers. After her retirement from Midwest, she turned her love of auctions and antiques into helping manage 4th Street Antiques in downtown Cannon Falls. She married Kermit H. Lindahl on November 17, 1951 at St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church where she was a lifelong member.

They raised their family on a small farm just two miles from where she grew up. Elaine was a kind, gentle soul who will be remembered for her grace and skills as a homemaker, cook, baker, gardener, quilter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, coworker and friend. She enjoyed spending time with family, attending auctions, antiquing, assembling puzzles, RV camping and traveling around the USA.

All will miss her pleasant demeanor, sense of humor, warm hugs, beautiful smile and dazzling blue eyes. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Helen (Anderson) Munson; husband, Kermit; infant daughter, Barbara Marie; and brother, Wayne Munson. She is survived by her four sons: Kevin (Betty) of Cannon Falls, Barry (Karla) of Lakeville, Bruce (Donna) of Farmington, and Kent (Deanna) of Hudson, WI.

She was a loving grandmother of eight to Jessica (Kris) Kasa, Brian (Jen), Becky, Kelly (Jason) Helgren, David (Laura), Eric, Isaac and Ethan. She cherished her nine great grandchildren: Jordan, Braden, and Morgan Kasa; Lucy, Kason, and Ellison Lindahl; Jax, and Avery Helgren; and Lawson Lindahl. Funeral services will be held at St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls at 11am on Wednesday, May 30th.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 29th from 5-7pm at Lundberg Funeral Home and one hour prior to funeral services at church. Interment will be at Cannon Falls Cemetery. Memorials preferred to St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
