Visitation- Tuesday December 18, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. – 12 Noon at our Bayport Funeral Home, 683 Montauk Hwy. Funeral Service- Tuesday December 18, 2018 at 12 Noon at our Bayport Funeral Home, 683 Montauk Hwy. Interment- Blue Point Cemetery Elaine Ruth Stein, a resident of Blue Point, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2018.

Elaine obtained her Master’s Degree in Library Science from the prestigious Palmer School of Library & Information Science at Long Island University (formerly CW Post). She shared her love of reading with elementary and middle school students as a Librarian for the Sachem Public School District for more than 30 years. Elaine loved to travel by RV, and visited 45 of the 50 U.S. states with a special fondness for the National Parks and Alaska.

She loved to read, sew and quilt in her spare time, and also enjoyed sailing on the Great South Bay. She had a fond interest in genealogy, researching her family lineage. Above all, Elaine adored and loved her Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Jerry Stein; her daughter Amanda (Stein) Thomson and her husband Jason, of Connecticut; her son Jonathan Stein, of Hauppauge, and three grandchildren. After the services on Tuesday, the family invites friends to join them at the Blue Point Fire Department, 205 Blue Point Ave. , Blue Point, NY 11715 for a light luncheon and to continue our celebration on Elaine’s life.
