Elaine Winegard Hammer, 92, of Masonic Village at Elizabethtown, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Allan V. and Martha E. (Russell) Winegard. Elaine was the wife of the late William L. Hammer who passed away on July 29, 2011.

Elaine was a graduate of Abington High School class of 1944. She later graduated from Taylor Business School in Philadelphia. Elaine worked part time as a Secretary at Carmet Realty Company and LaRosa Builders in Willow Grove.

She volunteered and was active at the Masonic Village, where she knitted prayer shawls. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Willow Grove and attended Sunday services at Sell Chapel. She enjoyed doing crafts and needlework.

Elaine is survived by three sons, James A. Hammer, husband of Nancy (Gray) of Colorado Springs, CO, Gary W. Hammer, husband of Sharon (Riggs) of Richardson, TX, and Robert K. Hammer, husband of Wendy (Jones) of Manheim; seven grandsons; twelve great grandchildren. A sister, Virginia R. Unterberger, preceded her in death. A memorial service honoring Elaine’s life will be held at the Sell Chapel at the Masonic Village, 200 Freemason Drive, Elizabethtown on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 10:30 AM.

Family and friends will be received following the service at the FCC Lodge Multipurpose Room at the Masonic Village where a luncheon will be held. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Masonic Village Hospice, 98 Masonic Drive, Suite 101, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
