Eleanor A. (McCarty) Tyler of Ossipee, NH passed away on March 3, 2019 at the age of 90. She was born November 18, 1928 in Boston, MA, to the late Grace E. (Norby) and J. George McCarty of Swampscott, MA. She attended Grammar School and High School in Swampscott, MA and graduated in the class of 1948.

After graduating she attended Curry College in Boston, MA and was employed by General Electric Company. Eleanor married Raymond E. Tyler in September of 1955 at St. Johns Church in Swampscott, MA and they honeymooned in Canada visiting Niagara Falls. They settled in Ossipee, NH where he worked for Public Service Co. of NH.

They resided there for many years raising three children. She was a wonderful woman with a great sense of humor. Her heart and her home were always open to anyone in need and many of her children’s friends, called her Mrs. “T”.

She was predeceased by her husband Raymond Tyler in 1983. Several years later she became the companion of Ervin White Sr. of Ossipee with whom she had many fond memories. Most recently she lived at Mt.

View Community Nursing Home. There she was known for her contagious laugh and enjoyed the Bingo games. The family would like to thank all of the wonderful people who showed much patience and kindness to her in her last days.

They are remarkable, care about the residents and encourage them daily and truly make a difference in people’s lives. She was predeceased by two brothers Gerald McCarty and David McCarty. She leaves her three children to whom she loved dearly, David S. Tyler and wife Bobbi of Ossipee, Irene (Reenie) Tyler-LaMonde and husband Rob of North Conway, and Mark (Toby) Tyler and fiancée Patricia Arsenault of Ossipee.

She leaves her grandchildren Amy Craft, Megan Dyson, David Keyes, Autumn Keyes, great grandchildren Parker and Hunter Dyson; a brother Phillip McCarty and a niece, Suzan McCarty, both of Lynn, MA. ; nephews, Jeb McCarty of Cumberland Center, ME, and Peter McCarty of Lynn, MA. , a great-nephew, Ian McCarty, and a great-niece Katina McCarty.

Calling hours will be held at the First Congregational Church, 50 NH-Rte 16 B, Center Ossipee, NH on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM, with a funeral service to follow at 2:30 PM. Burial will be announced later in the spring.
