Memorial services for Eleanor A. Wangen, age 78, of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. Eileen Woyen will officiate.

Interment will be at Lakewood Cemetery immediately following the service. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Online condolences are welcome at www.

bayviewfuneral.com. Eleanor died Monday, December 17, 2018 at Oak Park Place in Albert Lea. Eleanor Alma (Eggers) Wangen was born on March 23, 1940 in Ellendale, Minnesota, the daughter of Clarence Gustaf Paul Eggers and Alice Hilda (Dinse) Eggers.

She grew up in Ellendale and Owatonna, graduating from Ellendale High School. On August 31, 1973, Eleanor was united in marriage to Ralph Conrad Wangen in Albert Lea. Eleanor worked for Schweigert and Morning Star Home Health.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Eleanor enjoyed bingo, trivia, bowling, watching karaoke, church choir, and card games. She loved chatting and getting to know people and spreading cheerfulness to those around her.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Kelly Gleason of Albert Lea, Kent Worrell of Albert Lea, Kris (Molly Kaliher) Worrell of Hudson, Wisconsin, and Randy (Rose) Wangen of New Hope, Minnesota; grandchildren, John Gleason, Ciji Gleason, Sean Gleason, Sophia Wangen, and Sam Wangen; siblings, Clarence (LaVonne) Eggers, Margie DeBower, Beverly (Marvin) Meixner, Dee Sundem, and Phyllis (Bill) Stransky. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; parents, Clarence and Alice; sister, Patty Eggers; and son-in-law, Lester Gleason. Memorials preferred to the American Legion or Trinity Lutheran Church.
