Obituary for Eleanore M. Kimber Kimber, Eleanore M. “Ellie”, age 78 of Elmira, NY was ushered into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 25, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Ellie was born in Elmira to the late Arnold H. Pierce and Rowena P. Roll Pierce on January 9, 1940. In addition to her parents, Ellie was predeceased by her sister Jean Brink and brother Edwin Pierce.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Lewis G. Kimber; daughters, Kathy (Chris) Erway, Darlene (Terry) Dean, Melody (Jamie) Donahue and Pamela (Don) Sauter; son, Dusty Kimber; sister, Shirley Brink; grandchildren, Brian Young, Kristy Bradford, Danielle Erway, Joel (Maryjo) Erway, Jordan (Victoria) Young, Chloe Erway, Hannah Dean, Victoria Dean, Parker Dean, Edward Dean, Samantha Donahue, Jennifer Donahue, Zachary Donahue, Courtney Donahue, Isaias Sauter and Truett Sauter; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ellie loved spending time with her family and sharing laughter at family events. She was dedicated not only to her family but to anyone who was in need.
She had such a big heart. She taught her family to love others and to share the love of Jesus by your actions as well as words. She had nothing but kind words to say about others.
She was a dedicated prayer warrior, often praying for patients in the local hospitals and nursing facilities. Her family will miss her dearly, but they take comfort in knowing she is dancing with Jesus. Family and friends are invited to call at the Southside Alliance Church, 530 Pennsylvania Ave.
, Elmira on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 5:00 – 6:00 PM followed by a celebration of life from 6:00 – 7:00 PM. Interment will be in St. Peter’s and Paul’s cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of donations, Ellie would best be remembered by providing a random act of kindness to someone in need.
