OBITUARY Electa (Gohagon) Hardy August 21, 1934 – August 22, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Electa (Gohagon) Hardy, 84, of New Britain went to glory on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at The Hospital of Central Connecticut after a short illness. Electa was born in Chapman, Alabama, August 21, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Calvin and Lizzie (Poole) Gohagon. Electa relocated to Georgiana, Alabama with her family as a child.
She graduated from Georgiana Training School in Georgiana, Alabama. Electa settled in Connecticut after looking for employment opportunities. She worked several domestic positions and in the garment factories before landing on her true passion of taking care of her grandchildren.
She worked hard all her life, giving tirelessly to her family and friends. Her faith and strength carried her through the many ups and downs of life. It was a life well lived and a life well cherished by those she touched and loved.
Electa was predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years, Charles Hardy. She leaves behind to cherish her memory Sister Bonnie Pina, brother-in Law, Douglas Pina; son Charles M. (Vanessa) Hardy Jr., Karen (Andre) Senteio, Angela Hardy, Sybil Hardy, Leslie (Richard) Saxton, Carla Hardy, Shani (David) Littles; Step-Daughters, Sandra (Hardy) Clayton and Harriet (Hardy) Green. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Electa was predeceased by her sister Josephine (Gohagon) Wells and brother Calvin Gohagon, Jr. Funeral services will be on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 11:AM at St. James Baptist Church at 45 Daly Ave. New Britain, Ct,. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
