OBITUARY Eliana Marie Rouleau July 11, 2017 – September 17, 2018 The heavens gained another angel with the passing of Eliana Marie Rouleau, 14 months, of Keene, NH. She passed away in the arms of her parents at her home in Keene, on Monday, September 17, 2018, following a courageous and hard-fought battle with acute myeloid leukemia. Her parents, Adrian P. and Meghan E. (Gallo) Rouleau, proudly welcomed their daughter into the world on July 11, 2017 in Peterborough, NH.
Although Eliana’s life was short here with us, her parents relate that she was the most “social butterfly” they had ever met. She brought smiles and love to everyone she met, whether it be a stranger, friend or member of her family. Her smile lit up any room she was in, and she will be remembered for her “wave and hello” to friends and strangers alike.
Eliana enjoyed reading and would love to go to the library, pulling out many books to look at. She loved watching the fish in the library’s aquarium. She adored going on many walks with her parents and eating ice cream at the local ice cream shop.
She had some very specific “favorites” in her life, that of her “Mr. Monkey” and her “blankie”. Eliana’s fourteen months were packed with many days of reading, traveling, and being out in the world, loving animals and people as only this “little social butterfly” could. The huge impact of such a tiny angel will be greatly missed by many, especially her parents; her maternal grandparents, Sarah and Albert Croteau of Sandy Hook, CT; her paternal grandparents, Donald and Nidia Rouleau, of Keene; her maternal great-grandmother, Brenda Croteau of New Milford, CT; her paternal great-grandmother, Sara Gonzalez, of Bronx, NY; and her aunts and uncles, Alicia Gallo of Knoxville, TN, Rachel Gallo of Ridgefield, CT, David Croteau of Sandy Hook, and Melissa and Joe Siejkowski of Boscawen, NH; and her Godparents, Joy Davis of Hancock, NH, and Deacon Arnold Gustafson of Rochester, NH.
Eliana was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Robert Gallo; her maternal great-grandparents, Gale Croteau, Tony Gallo and Ruth Gallo; and her paternal great-grandfather, Juan Gonzalez. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 24th at 11:00AM in St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Keene.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00PM at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations may be made in Eliana’s memory to the Hematology and Oncology Department of the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD) One Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH 03766.
