Elijah Lawton Grindley, 22 years of age, recently residing in Columbus, Ohio passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018, in his sleep. Eli was born to Beth (Aderholt) Grindley and Gregory Warren Grindley October 14, 1995, in Kenosha Wisconsin. Eli attended Tremont Elementary & Jones Middle School in Upper Arlington, OH and graduated high school from Madeira High School/Scarlet Oaks in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Elijah was most recently employed at St. Josephs Nursing Home in Louisville Ohio. Known for his giving spirit, philanthropy, compassionate heart and flamboyant style, Eli loved animals and knew no strangers. He was a self-described “bibliophile” or lover of books who enjoyed discussing Sociology & Philosophy.

An advocate for the Autism Community while home in Cincinnati, Ohio, Eli also was a supporter of the Mahoning County Buddy Walk and was an essential part of the food bank at LifePointe Church of Atwater. He is survived by his mother Beth Ann Grindley of Cincinnati OH; his father Gregory Grindley of Atwater, OH. His brother Iain Grindley, his sister Brittany Helmuth, Robert & Mary Aderholt of Hastings NE (Grandparents), Aaron & Christy Grindley of Marlboro, OH (Uncle & Aunt), Niki Wrasman (Aunt) of Lima OH, Joette Kuharic of Columbus, OH (Great Aunt) and other extended family members.

He is proceeded in death by his Grandmothers Susan Eileen Grindley of Alliance Ohio and Georgia Elaine Aderholt of Columbus, Ohio, and Grandfather George F. Grindley of Alliance Ohio. Services were held Saturday, July 7th at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Cincinnati with a Catholic Mass to follow later this summer.
