Age 75, of Dormont, formerly of Rome, Italy; passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 28, 2018. Beloved husband for 33 years of Denise (Caputo) Catalfamo; devoted son of the late Giuseppe and Antonietta (Grillo) Catalfamo; brother of Augusto Catalfamo of Rome, Italy, the late Filipo Neri, Rita, Aurora, Sesto and Augustino; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews both in Italy and the United States. Elio was born in Messina, Sicily, on December 2, 1942, then moved to Rome at the age of 6 months with his family ahead of the Allied Forces in 1943.

Elio worked in various hotels in Italy and the UK before working at Italcable Telephone where he met Denise. He came to the United States in 1987 and retired as a Barista at La Prima Espresso Co. in 2006. Elio was an avid Bridge player, gardener, reader, loved crosswords in English and Italian and was a devoted fan of the Lazio Soccer Club in Rome.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mount Lebanon on Saturday afternoon from 2:00 until time of Service at 5:00 o’clock. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
