Obituary for Elizabeth “Ann” West Elizabeth “Ann” West, age 78, of Grove, OK passed away peacefully Monday morning, December 17, 2018 at her home. Ann was born on October 13, 1940 to Fay and Maxine (Marshall) West in Greenfield, MO, one of 10 children. She graduated from Republic High School in Republic, MO, where she went on to complete cosmetology school and worked as a beautician.
Ann later relocated to South West City, MO and in 1980 moved to Grove. Ann worked in retail sales and loved spending time helping her daughter, Sharon LeBow, at her shop, Victorian Accents. There she earned the nickname “Queenie” as she walked around like she was the queen bee in charge.
Ann loved her family dearly and was never happier than when they were all together. A straight shooter, with a big heart, she was never shy in sharing her opinions and loved being the mother hen and taking care of everyone. Ann enjoyed antiquing, playing cards and watching the Young & the Restless.
Perhaps her proudest achievement was raising her grandson, Josh, from the age of 6 weeks old, as her very own and watching him and his family thrive. Ann was Baptist in faith. Ann was preceded in death by: her parents, and 3 brothers, Billy West, Buddy West and Joe West.
Left to cherish her memory are 4 children: Paul West of Springfield, MO, Sharon LeBow and husband, Jack, of Grove, OK, Teresa McElhaney of Baxter Springs, KS and Josh McElhaney and wife, Jennifer, of Grove, OK. Siblings: Robert West and wife Julia, Brenda Winters and husband Tim, Susie Peacock, Mary Lou Cox, Becky Brandenburg and Debbie West, 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will be from 5-7pm Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Nichols-Stephens Funeral & Cremation Services, new location at 10201 U.S. Hwy 59 Grove, OK.
Funeral services will be held at 10am Friday, December 21, 2018 at Nichols Stephens Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be at 2:30pm Friday, December 21, 2018 at Fullington Cemetery in Dadeville, MO.
