Elizabeth Granelli June 05, 1943 – April 26, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Elizabeth Jane Granelli (nee Reese), 75, of Wall Township, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on April 26th. She was surrounded by her family. Elizabeth was born in Kearny, New Jersey on June 5, 1943 and moved to Harrison when she was young.
She graduated from Harrison High School in 1961 and worked for PSE&G in Newark. Elizabeth married Michael, her husband of 53 years, in 1966, and settled in Kearny, where she lived for nearly 40 years before moving to Bradley Beach after her retirement. Elizabeth dedicated her life to supporting her husband and raising her five children.
She was active in the Kearny Parent Teacher’s Association and Saint Cecelia’s parish, where she taught catechism for many years. She was an avid fan of college basketball, especially the St. Peter’s College Peahens, St. Peter’s soccer and any team for which her children played. She was passionate about the New York Yankees.
She will be remembered for her faith, her commitment to her family, her compassion and her sense of humor. Elizabeth took immense joy in spending every moment she could with her beloved grandchildren; whether on the beach, sleeping over at the shore, chatting away on her front porch and kitchen, or spending Christmas, her favorite holiday, with her family. She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Mary Reese, and her sister and best friend, Judy Reese.
She will be deeply missed by many, but especially by her husband, Michael; her five children, Michael Granelli (Loma) of Nutley; Bryan Granelli (Jackie) of Kearny; Kevin Granelli (Eileen) of Berkeley Heights; Christine Mastandrea (Joseph) of Nutley; and Dennis Granelli (Holly) of Santa Monica, CA; her 13 grandchildren (14th expected in May), Jessica, Colleen, Shannon, Joseph, Jack, Anthony, Reilley, Kate, Erin, Patrick, Michael, Abbey, and Luke; two great-grandchildren, Jordan and Cameron; her brother Joseph Reese (Eva) and niece Emily Marie; sister-in law, Mary Tecktonius, niece Beth Ailinger and her children, Emily Mary, Bryan and Mike; and her beloved friend Ginger Florio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Elizabeth the national non-profit Right to Life Organization (www. nrlc.org/donate.
) Visitation will be on Friday ,May 3 from 4 to 8 PM at the Reilly Bonner Funeral Home, 891 D Street Belmar NJ. A funeral mass will be offered on Saturday , May 4 at 11:00 AM at the Church of The Ascension, 501 Brinley Avenue. Bradley Beach.
