Elizabeth J. Colt March 29, 1940 – May 1, 2019 SOUTH BEND – Elizabeth J. Colt, 79, residing in South Bend, Indiana passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Center for Hospice Care, South Bend. Elizabeth was born on March 29, 1940 in Rossville, Illinois to the late Charles “Elmo” Chenoweth and Mabel (Conner) Chenoweth and has been a lifelong resident of this area, graduating from South Bend Riley High School. Elizabeth worked for many years as a clerk at CVS Pharmacy.

She attended and was actively involved at Deer Run Church of Christ, South Bend where she participated in Crafty Critters, Knitting, and a Book Club. On May 29, 1971 in South Bend, she was united in marriage to Larry D. Colt, who survives. She is also survived by her step-daughter, Christine “Tina” (Jim) Colt-Pienkofer of Elkhart, Lori (George) Ramirez of Alvin, Texas, and Tanya (Jim) Mead of Elkhart; sons, David (Amber) Colt of Carmel, and Todd (Tina) Colt of Elkhart; fourteen grandchildren, Chloe Colt, Jenna Colt, Macey Colt, Julianne Colt, Katie Colt, Matthew Cotton, Tom Cotton, Jacob Pienkofer, Kelli (Ashton) O’Hare, Cole (Alex) Mead, Tyler Mead, Ben Putch, Grant Putch, and Avery Ramirez; two great-grandchildren, Greyson Mead and Isabella Mead; and brother, Patrick (Linda) Chenoweth of South Bend; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Linda and Richard Kierusch of Midland, Texas.

Along with her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Dobrzykowski. Funeral services for Elizabeth will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Deer Run Church of Christ, 2730 S. Ironwood Drive, South Bend, IN 46614. Friends may gather with the family on Friday, May 3, 2019 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave.
